1. WHAT THIS POLICY COVERS

This policy applies to our website, mobile app, and any related features or services offered by Tort Co./Tort Quest. It does not apply to third‑party services we do not control.

2. WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT

2.1 Information You Give Us

When you use the app or website, you may give us

Profile info (like display name)

In-game activity or preferences (most gameplay data is stored locally on your device and not on our servers)

Messages you send us (support requests, feedback)

We don’t require sensitive personal data unless you choose to share it.

Sensitive Personal Data means information revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetic data, biometric data for unique identification, health information, or data concerning sex life or sexual orientation or any details that could reveal your identity beyond your username.

2.2 Information We Collect Automatically

When you use our services, we automatically collect

Device info (device type, operating system, app version)

Log data (IP address, browser type, interaction data)

Usage information (levels played, features used, crash logs)

This helps us understand how the app is working and make improvements. Some of this information may be collected by third-party tools we use (such as analytics or crash reporting services) to help us maintain and improve the app.

2.3 Information from Third Parties

If you connect your account through a third-party (like Sign in with Google or Apple), we receive limited information, usually your email. Some services allow you to hide your email address. If you choose to hide your email, we will only receive a unique identifier from Apple or Google that allows us to recognize your account, but we will not receive your actual email address. We only receive what you allow through that service.

2.4 Local Data Storage

A significant portion of our gameplay data (such as progress, achievements, and preferences) is stored locally on your device. This means:

We do not have access to this data on our servers

We cannot retrieve or restore this data if it is deleted

Deleting the app from your device will remove this locally stored data

3. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We use your information to

Detect, prevent, and fix technical issues (such as crashes and bugs)

Track progress, achievements, and game features

4. COOKIES, TRACKING & SESSION ANALYTICS

Our mobile app does not use cookies.
Our website does not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. We rely on limited, session-based technical data to maintain security and performance.
We use New Relic session analytics to understand site performance and troubleshoot errors. This data does not track users across websites, does not include personal information, and expires automatically. If you do not have an account or if your data is stored only on your device, you can delete your data at any time by uninstalling the app. This will permanently remove locally stored game data from your device.

8. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

Tort Co. is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information as soon as possible.

9. DATA SECURITY

Tort Co., has taken reasonable steps by employing industry-standard practices and technology to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of Personal Data; but because even the most secure devices or networks can be violated, Tort Co cannot guarantee security.

10. DONATIONS & PAYMENTS

When you choose to support Tort Co through a donation, your payment is processed securely by trusted third‑party providers, including GoFundMe and Zeffy.

10.1 Information collected

These providers collect and process your payment details (such as credit card or bank information) in order to complete the transaction. Tort Co does not store your full payment information. We only receive a confirmation of your donation.

10.2 Third‑party responsibility

Because these providers operate independently, they may use your information in accordance with their own privacy notices. We encourage you to review GoFundMe’s Privacy Policy and Zeffy’s Privacy Policy to understand how they handle your data.

10.3 Our commitment

Tort Co only receives limited information necessary to confirm your donation, such as your name, donation amount, and contact details if you choose to share them. We use this information solely for record‑keeping, donor communication, and compliance purposes.

10.4 Security

All donation pages are served over secure HTTPS connections, and we regularly review our integrations to ensure compliance with applicable privacy and payment security standards.

11. INTERNATIONAL USERS

Our services are intended for users in the United States.
If you access our services from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States. Where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
